Overview
Located in front of a Patagonian fjord, La Barrosa offers a unique stay experience for those looking to enjoy horseback riding, hiking, and nature contemplation in a peaceful environment. It is a place designed to completely disconnect and experience Patagonia in an authentic way.
Our guests have access to extensive hectares of untouched nature, in a space without internet or phone signal, ideal for a total disconnection. From the comfort of the main house, you can enjoy typical meals, adventure activities, and interact with local people, who, through their knowledge and experience, make this a genuine and high-quality stay.
With a territory of around 4,000 hectares, La Barrosa offers a wide space to explore and learn firsthand how livestock farming and tourism develop in Patagonia, always with a focus on reducing environmental impact. Its location, in a transition zone between the Patagonian channels and the pampas, allows you to enjoy a remarkable diversity of ecosystems.
This program is flexible and can be adapted in different ways, allowing you to choose a main activity or combine several experiences over two days. Additionally, it is possible to extend the stay to create a special program. Horseback riding, trekking, and 4x4 rides can be done on the estate, as well as coordinating mountain biking and kayaking activities.
Book your experience at La Barrosa and live an authentic stay in one of the most pristine environments of Chilean Patagonia.
Itinerary
We start the morning sailing from Puerto Natales through the Last Hope Sound fjord, to reach what will be our home for the next two days. After settling our equipment, we will go on a full-day excursion, where we will explore different Patagonian ecosystems, including Nothofagus forests, peat bogs, and coastal shores, have lunch at a typical cattle ranch and visit Kawesqar archaeological sites. Once settled in La Barrosa Refuge, we will enjoy a mate, and then start preparing our traditional barbecue with a good Chilean wine.
After a good night’s rest we wake up to a hearty breakfast to prepare us for another day of activities, which were planned the night before with our guide. Upon finishing the activities we arrive back to the main estancia house by midday to enjoy a delicious lamb barbeque (asado al palo). Afterwards you will see a demonstration of our sheep dogs working and the shearing of a sheep before navigating back to Puerto Natales.
