Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Natales
On your first day, you'll arrive in Puerto Natales and check into a central hotel in town. After settling in, we'll visit the beautiful waterfront and enjoy some delicious restaurants. Later in the day, we'll have a briefing with our guide to learn about the W circuit and what we can expect during our trip.
Day 2: Trekking to the Base of the Towers
Distance: 14 miles / Time: 8-10hrs / Difficulty: Demanding / Accommodation: Camping Central / Meals: Box lunch and dinner.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick up our boxed lunches and start our journey to Torres del Paine National Park in our private transportation. We'll travel through the stunning landscapes of Patagonia until we reach Laguna Amarga, where we'll register with the park ranger. From here, we'll be taken to the welcome center and register at Estancia Cerro Paine before taking a 5-minute walk to the Central Refuge. Today's walk begins through the Ascencio Valley and its extensive forests. During the final ascent, you'll walk through an immense field of large rocks until you reach one of the most emblematic viewpoints in the world, the famous Mirador Base las Torres. At the height of 2,952 feet above sea level, marvel at the 3 granite towers (north, central, and south) and the brilliant turquoise glacial lake at its feet. Take some beautiful pictures and enjoy your Box lunch before taking the same way back to Torre Central Refuge. After a long day of nature, savor a warm dinner at the refuge.
Day 3: Hike to Refugio los Cuerno or French Dome
Distance: 7 or 9 miles depending on accommodation / Time: 4-5 hours / Difficulty: Moderate / Accommodation: Camping Cuernos or Frances / Meals: breakfast, box lunch, and dinner.
After breakfast, we'll start walking to the middle zone of the W, just below the great mountains. During this walk, you'll pass through beautiful crystalline streams and get a close encounter with the glaciers hanging from Mount Almirante Nieto at 8,759 feet tall. The majestic Condors, Chile's biggest bird, will be gliding from the heights and bordering the fascinating waters of Lake Nordenskjold. The path is simple and will take you directly to Cuernos Refuge to relax overnight.
Day 4: Explore the French Valley
Distance: French Lookout 10.5 miles / Time: 6-7hrs / Difficulty: Moderate / Lodging: Camping Paine Grande / Meals: Breakfast, Box lunch, and dinner.
On this day remember to start early. Begin your journey with a hearty breakfast and a packed Box lunch, and get ready to witness some of the most stunning landscapes Patagonia has to offer. As you embark on your walk, you'll pass a park ranger shelter at the entrance to the valley, just before ascending to the French Valley. Climb up large rocks and navigate through the forest until you reach the Plateau (French Viewpoint). Here, you'll be rewarded with incredible views of Los Cuernos, turquoise glacial lagoons, and awe-inspiring hanging glaciers cascading down the 10,000-foot-tall Paine Grande Mountain's east face. If you're lucky, you might even hear the thunderous noise of glaciers and witness an avalanche. From this point, you can continue walking to the British Lookout, the heart of the park. Take the time to rest and enjoy your Box lunch with a view. Return to the park ranger shelter via the same path, and make your way back to the Cuernos or Frances Refuge. At night, replenish yourself with a delicious dinner at the refuge.
Day 5: Grey Glacier - Experience the Stunning Blue Ice Massif

Begin the day with a hike through a narrow and winding valley that leads to Laguna de Los Patos. Admire parts of the immense Southern Patagonian Ice Field and the ice floes of Lago Grey as you trek. Descend through a mountainous forest until reaching the refuge and continue for 10 minutes to the Grey Glacier viewpoint, where you can marvel at the massif of blue ice.
